Family of 🖐🏻!

Welcome Emmet Stanford!! Born on May12 at 2:25am. Weighing 8 lbs 14oz, 21 inches long!



We welcomed our newest addition, Emmet! Here is his birth story, it’s a short one this time around which is fine with me😊  The kids are enamored by him and we all love him so much! We were expecting him early because of my history with Bentley and Hadley, my doctor thought he would make his appearance earlier than later. My mom and sister were able to stay at home and quarantine for two weeks so they could be here when the baby came and watch Bentley and Hadley. We had them come May 1, because were were sure I would go into labor around then. However Emmet decided to take his time and didn’t come until I was 40+1. I was definitely ready! It was kind of a scary quick labor. I wasn’t sure we would make it to the hospital. I woke up around midnight with a contraction, but it wasn’t too bad and was able to fall asleep for an hour.  At one I woke up again with a stronger contraction, and I had another one about 20 minutes after that. However, after that they started getting closer and closer quick! Finally I woke Alex up around 1:45 when I had them 5 minutes apart and soon after my water broke!  By the time we were on our way to the hospital my contractions were about 3 minutes apart. And by the time we got inside the hospital I didn’t know if I was going to make it to labor and delivery! I got up there and in the bed at 2:20, a couple minutes later my doctor showed up (luckily he was on call at the hospital that night) and I pushed for couple minutes and he was born at 2:25am! It definitely was as my doctor put it “fast and furious” I’m just glad we made it and he wasn’t born in the car! It was such a special moment I was able to just hold him skin to skin for an hour or so before the nurses came in and cleaned us  up and then did the weight and height with Emmet. We are pretty sure he must have weighed over 9 pounds because he pooped so much in that hour before he got weighed! He is the biggest baby of the three Bentley was 5 and a half. And Hadley was 7 even. But you forget how little they are. He also has a lot of hair! It’s dark now but we are pretty sure he’s going to be blonde. We were in the  hospital for less than 36 hours. With everything going on we were discharged as soon as baby and I were ready. Recovery has been quick this time around, which has been awesome. It was so nice having my mom and Annie here to help. They did lots of playing with the kids and helping with Bentley’s school work and cleaning and cooking. It was sad when they left but we are hoping things are looking better this summer and we can visit all our family♥️  Anyway here are some pictures! We love you all and are so  grateful for the friendships and love that we receive.

The Richards family is on the move!

 The last time I posted was over a year ago! Like the rest of the world this year was anything but ordinary. We did however all grow a year older, and we learned to adapt the best we could to our new way of life.  With COVID, a new baby and Bentleys heart we tried to be extra cautious. We spent a lot of time at home together, a lot of time going to the beach and different parks together. We worshipped each Sunday from our living room over zoom and had many Facetime and Skype calls with our families. We turned a bedroom into a home office while Alex worked form home, and our living room into a virtual classroom for Bentley while he did his entire first grade year. Hadley and I did some mommy pre-school. Life would be boring without change!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! Hello! I know I say this every time but it’s been awhile since our last post and so much has changed for our family in the last few months! But the top three changes are: 1-We found out we were expecting! 2- Alex got a new job (same company), and 3- We moved to San Diego!  I’ll just summarize by month and add lots of pictures😃 June/July We had a nice relaxing summer, we stayed home and tried to get back into a routine and normal life post hospital. We did go to the children’s museum lots and played outside. We also put Hadley in some dance classes and Bentley in Swimming and soccer to keep them busy. Bentley also lost two teeth!  August Bentley started kindergarten! I can’t Believe he is old enough to go to school!
