I am not the type of person to write of myself and the things I have accomplished in my life. I have been known to keep to myself and not update my Facebook status every time I go to the grocery store. BUT.... this past year I have been greatly blessed and it would be ungrateful of me to not share how me and my family has been blessed:)
In the past yearish, I have graduated from college, married my best friend, moved to Colorado, and we are expecting our first baby in March:) There is so much that I have been given and I am going to try my best to share my experiences and express my gratitude for all my blessings!
About Me
I was born and raised in Colorful Colorado, I have two wonderful parents, and I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters. I am in the middle. My family and I are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was raised in a home with strong values and high morals, I am grateful for my parents and my siblings for teaching and raising me in a way where I can rely on the Gospel, and to live my life in a way that I can be happy and successful no matter what life throws at me.

When I was 17 my family moved to New Mexico, it was hard, but I would do it again because of the things that I learned. It is by going through challenges that we learn about who we are, and how we realize that we need to rely on the Lord to help refine us. God will give us challenges to make us stronger, to help us become better people.
After graduating from school, I made the decision to pursue an education at Brigham Young University-Idaho. It is here where I made life long friends who taught me through example and kindness. I hope they know who they are, and that they really have influenced my life more than they probably know.
It was at BYU-Idaho where I felt that my testimony really blossomed. I had a desire to serve my Heavenly Father in a way I had never felt, or understood before. I was called to serve in the Cape Verde Praia Mission in August 2009. My feelings for the people there and land of Cape Verde will have to wait for another day, because it would be too long for this introduction blog.

But You should know that serving was one of the best decisions I have made in my entire life. It is on those islands that I came to know my Heavenly Father and my Savior, and where I came to know myself. I returned in March 2011, I returned to BYU-I and in July 2012 I received my Bachelors of Arts in Cello Performance.
About Alex
Alex was born in North Carolina then he moved to Amarillo, Texas when he was 2 years old. He lived there with his three sisters and brother until he was 12. That is when he moved to Broomfield Colorado where him and I met for the first time. He was also raised in a home where he was taught and raised in the Gospel by two loving parents.
He played football and ultimate frisbee all though high school where he graduated in 2006. He then started his college education at the University of Northern Colorado. After a year and a half of studying hard and taking classes, he took a year off to work. He worked as a shoe salesman, and valet until he had earned money to serve a mission.
In December of 2008 he left to serve a faithful mission to the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma mission. He returned in December 2011 where he transferred to Brigham Young University-Idaho. Here he finished his education with a degree in Business Management with an emphasis in supply chain management. While he also was an active participant on the schools Ultimate frisbee team.

Our Story
Alex and I actually met when Alex's family moved to Broomfield Co in 2001. I was 11 and he was 12. Of course at that time we didn't really become friends or anything we just knew of each other. It wasn't until high school when we first started to talk. He actually asked my brother Dallas if he could have my E-mail address, and we started to "instant message" we became good friends and would occasionally "hang out" Alex hung out with a different group of friends and had a girlfriend, so when occasion permitted we would go out and play tennis or go on walks. When I moved to New Mexico, Alex and I continued to talk on the phone about once a week and we continued to become even better friends. I felt like I could tell him everything, and I did:) He really was my best friend, even though we were miles apart.
I occasionally got to see him when my family went back to Colorado. I even was able to go back for his Senior Prom as his Date! It was a night I won't forgot! (one reason being he got food poisoning after dinner and spent most of the night in the bathroom!) After I went away to Idaho we still talked, just not as much as we did in High School, we were in different places in our lives. However we did still talk occasionally. I do remember talking on the phone the night before he entered the MTC, I am remembered feeling so happy for him and the decision he had made to serve.
We didn't talk again until I received my mission call, I found his address and I sent him a letter with my exciting news. From then on it was History, we wrote each other once a week, even though the mail system wasn't great in Cape Verde, without fail I always received letters from Elder Richards. He returned in December 2010, and he transferred to BYU-Idaho, where I was attending school. I returned in March of 2011, and he came down from Idaho to attend my homecoming.
We both went back to Idaho and we Dated for a couple weeks. I then broke up with him pretty much because I was scared. I was afraid of commitment and I still wasn't sure if he was who I wanted to be with. We remained friends even though I broke of our relationship, he was still the one that I would tell everything too, he was still my best friend. Both of us still dated other people and lived our lives best we could. Then in July of 2012 right before graduation on my birthday we decided to date again. That was the best decision I had made that year.
The night of graduation we parted ways, I had decided to start my masters at the University of New Mexico and Alex returned to Broomfield to work. However we were determined to give it a go, both of us were against long distance relationships, but when you really do love someone it was worth giving it a try. Alex was able to visit a few times over the next few months, but we talked daily on the phone and through Skype.
It was on September 1, 2012 when he came to visit that he popped the question. We took a hike and packed a picnic, we then played one of my favorite games. Pretty Pretty Princess:) I was the winner of course, when he then got down onto one knee and proposed with a beautiful sparkly ring:) We were then married right after Christmas on December 27, 2012, in the Albuquerque NM Temple.
After our honeymoon in Disneyland/California We went back to Idaho so Alex could finish his Degree. I found a job working at a daycare and teaching cello lessons, and Alex worked hard and played on the schools Frisbee team. He graduated in July 2012. We then moved home to Colorado, where he got a job managing the Office at Playco Park Builders, a company he had previously worked for that builds playgrounds. After living with his parents for a couple months we moved to our own apartment in Lakewood Colorado, where we are currently at.
